Do not eat the meat of domestic, marsh-dwelling or water animals together with honey, sesame, jaggery, milk, black gram, radish, lotus stalk or sprouted grains.[1]

Sesame (tila, तिल) comes second in Charaka's list, right after honey. The verse names the food, not a preparation, and gives no reason for the pair or any time to wait between them. It covers meat from domestic, marsh and water animals.[1]

The modern view

We found no study of sesame eaten with meat that tests Charaka's rule. Our search was not fully screened, so a study may exist that we missed.
