What the texts say
Amra, mango, is the first of the nineteen fruits Charaka names as incompatible with milk, and the list ends with 'everything sour, liquid or solid'. Sushruta also lists mango, next to jamun, among foods not to take with milk.[1][2]
The modern view
We have not found a modern study that tests mango eaten with milk, as a shake or in any other form. The rule comes from the classical texts alone.
